Sort of? They work better on rougher paper in my experience, but it also depends on what kind of pen you have. Because if it's a ballpoint sort of pen with gel ink, then it's fine. Needle point pens will write better when there's more texture.

[ It's a lot!! There's a reason why penmanship is an art and why calligraphy is such an intricate form of art. oh god is she going to introduce ragna to body calligraphy sometimes...

Weiss only smiles when Ragna says there's way more to writing and notebooks. He seems interested at least, so Weiss hopes that she isn't putting him off with how eager she is about all this. ]

Well, it's just like how there's so much more to cooking and eating. Like how there's a specific spoon for soup and desserts, or... um, [ Okay, she can give an example for eating easily, but cooking? She's at a blank here... ] What kind of noodles to use when making certain kinds of dishes?

[ Yeah!! That sounds right. Weiss sounds like she's asking him a question but finds her confidence after saying it out loud. ]

The one I use has three kinds— no lines, lined, and dotted. Maybe a red one, a black one, and... [ She's humming in thought as she turns back to look at the array of journals. There really are all kinds! So she picks up a red one, a black one, and seems to have difficulty choosing what the next one should be. White would honestly get dirty easily? But she's using blue already... eh, that's okay. They can match! So she gets a sky blue one for him, too. ] How's this?

Do you like these colours?
