Other people have full access?

[This surprises and interests him.]

I'm surprised they allow that. It seems like that would go against the whole hierarchy they've arranged. But that does sound convenient.

[He's thinking of himself and Jun. They already share a suite, but it'd be extra convenient if Jun could unlock the door with his own watch. What incentive does the House have to allow that, though, when everyone is supposed to be treated according to their rank? When the goal isn't to build community or find someone to settle down with, but to play the field and compete through sex?

That's just his own thinking, though. And he might be starting to realize that his thinking is a bit too narrow. Perhaps he doesn't understand the House's motives, or their goals for them, as well as he thought. In any case, he can definitely sympathize with her woes about too many shopping bags...

He smiles when she cops to the whole sweet tooth thing. And then he shares:

You know liking sweets doesn't make someone a child, right? Nagisa-kun's favorite food is chocolate, and Jun-kun's is strawberries! And I wouldn't say either of them has a childlike image. Even I've been known to enjoy sweets from time to time~♪

[Plus it's not like a princess who loves sweets is unheard of. On the contrary, it suits her character type!

There doesn't turn out to be any sort of hidden door. It's more of an illusion, which causes him to blink. A secret door would've added to the sense of espionage. But this is more convenient than crawling on his hands and knees through a hidden tunnel, so he can hardly complain too much. He follows her through the glass door, and then he takes in the scene that awaits them: an elegant-looking tea party, with some dainty (and tasty) looking snacks. And then two gift boxes, to top it all off.

It still surpasses his expectations, despite the impressive suite he just traveled through, and he stares with slightly widened eyes. Up until she wishes him a happy birthday. Then a smile comes over his lips.
]

You don't have to apologize. I should be thanking you.

[He didn't get her anything for her birthday.

But it'd be rude to turn down her gifts. Whatever's inside the boxes he's sure was chosen thoughtfully. He steps closer to the table and sets down the stuff he brought along.
]

I brought some sweets, too, as it so happens. Traditional sweets from my home country~♪ It's not what I usually eat with tea, but I thought it might be nice to share a little piece of my home world. And then I also brought party poppers, since no party is complete without those. And party hats! ♪

[He takes a party popper out of the bag...

... and then he pops it, just to demonstrate. The noise it makes is surprisingly loud!
