What, to stop you from being able to use it? Just a little bit of magic. It'd wear off after a bit, so it's not like it'd be a forever kind of thing.

[A pause.]

Unless you meant how would I consume your Aura...

[He has a feeling it's not that one, and he drops his hands to the bed, leaning back on them to take on a much more relaxed position.]

For the record I'm not, unless things get dire for me. In which case I would very politely ask you if I could consume a bit of it.

That's already so suspicious! [ He's so sus!!! He's gonna eat her one of these days, and she cannot let her guard down. She shucks the hairbrush at him for good measure. ] At least be a bit more specific. Magic isn't a concept that should even exist where I'm from, just so you know. What kind of magic? How long will the spell last? How potent is it?

[ If he's proposing something, then he'd better give a bit more detail. ]

And why can't you eat someone else?

[This time he lifts his hand to catch that hairbrush with surprising reflexes. Definitely nothing he's shown so far.]

It's a curse. It'll block you from being able to use your Aura... Sort of like how it'd block someone from being able to use magic. It doesn't have to be very potent, honestly. And how long it can last is from a few minutes to a few hours to a day or so? Depends on how strong I make it.

[He tosses the brush up and down in his hand as he watches her, but makes no move to do anything else.]

You said your Aura regenerates, didn't you? Wouldn't it make more sense for me to consume that than to consume a person?

[This is all just speculative, though!!! Truly.]

[ Well, he's fast. She has to give him that! It's a little piece of information she tucks in her brain for now. It may have even been a fluke - who knows! He did say he's new to this king thing... so maybe he doesn't have any combat experience prior? ]

Let me get this straight: you said you were concerned for me, and that you want me to not activate my Aura around other demons so they don't consume my soul.

But if you need it, you want to ask for my permission to let you have some?

[ She has no idea what to think of him. But he does make a compelling argument, even if it does sound like such a sick thing to do. ]

[It is out of concern! But also, a very quiet, deeper part of him does absolutely enjoy the fact that if he can convince her, then that means he'll have a ready access of food when he wants it. Maybe not needs, but definitely if he wants it.

It's definitely coming from as much of a selfish place as it is one of concern.]

I think I told you earlier, but hurting people isn't really my kind of thing.

[Except for, you know, when he bit her hard enough to make her bleed. Which absolutely wasn't recent at all. Not even remotely!!!]

[ god she might just bite his dick out of sheer frustration at this point. Maybe she should have added a bit of teeth earlier when she had him in her mouth.

Weiss remains grumpy for a few more seconds, glaring at him from her seat, stewing in annoyance. ]

I'd probably start to feel weak? And then if it kept going on, I'd probably lose control of myself and just attack people until I was full.

[ Super awful. But he's sure he can get his magnetite fix somewhere here. Even if he has to be an awful vampire to do it. People are probably into that, honestly.]

[ Boy, why do you sound unsure... ]

I guess it's never happened before? What about with other demons? Do they also act up in the same way?

[belheir]

I told you, I'm new at this.

[ Cut him some slack!!! ]

Generally stronger demons need less over longer periods, but weaker demons sort of act like crazed animals about it, like they can't get enough. So I should be fine for maybe a bit longer?

[ Again.... he sounds unsure. ]

But I haven't actually consumed any since I became a demon in the first place, so it's been about... a month and a half?

[schmisse]

I somehow thought you only became King recently.

[ Is she misunderstanding? Did she miss a crucial piece of information? ]

What do you mean you became a demon? What were you before?

[belheir]

I'm new to both. I was human before giving up my humanity and soul to become a demon. The king of them, specifically. Both happened at the same time, but I didn't fully awaken as the King of Bel until a few hours after I lost all that.

[ So be nice! He's still learning. ]

What I do know of demons I had to learn quick and unfortunately only had seven days to do it.

[ That sounds absolutely complicated. She almost wants to ask why he had to give it up, but she finds that this isn't the proper time to pry. It feels like a long story that shouldn't be shared when you've only met someone.

Weiss certainly has no intention of talking about her "story" to anyone at this time. Not the nitty-gritty of it, anyway.

Though now she thinks she understands why he might be nicer than other demons, or so he claims. It's because he knows what it's like to be human. Weiss may be wrong about this, but she was never truly a good judge of character.

Her legs are already crossed, but she uncrosses them, only to switch which leg goes on top of the other. ]

So if I ensure you don't go on a rampage and start attacking innocent civilians and wildcards here, what do I get in turn? I'd be giving you a part of soul, after all.

[ To that, her words, he actually seems a little surprised, but the more he thinks about it, the more he gets it. ]

I'll make a contract with you, to ensure we both are bound by the rules we set in place. Portions of your Aura, in exchange for my services as a demon. You'd be able to use my magic, share some of my abilities, and since you said you need Aura to defend yourself, I'll protect you when you need.

[ It's mostly the last part that feels important. The other parts just sort of come part and parcel with demon contracts. ]

[ Just you wait, Golden Peacock. She will be the hero this resort never needed. ]

Like the fire from earlier. [ His magic, she means.

... Honestly, this is actually pretty interesting. ]

What else can you do?

[ All while using a demonic contract to do it, even. ]

The magic I have can be split into four categories, elemental, almighty, healing, and curse. It's pretty simple to figure out what those are, I think. Well, maybe not almighty, but think of it as more... neutral aspected?

[schmisse]

You've talked about curse, healing is self-explanatory... What elements are you capable of, um... using?

[ Is that the terminology when it comes to magic? She has no idea. ]

I also have no idea what neutral aspected magic is supposed to be, either.

Fire, ice, wind, lightning. And neutral aspected just means... theres no elements attached to the spell. Usually its an explosion type deal, just without fire.

[ It's kind of hard to explain!

He taps his hands against the bed a little.]

It's usually the most dangerous kind of magic.

But explosions have elements.

[ Kazuya, you can't just leave her high and dry like this. She needs to know??? She actually looks disappointed that she can't understand what this ~almighty~ magic is supposed to be. ]

Like I said, it's hard to explain. It's a blinding bright white light, searing pain that isn't really like anything you've ever felt. Or... you can use it to even steal other people's life force or magical ability with.

If I really had to categorize it further... it's something that attacks your very being, rather than your body?
